Blank Realm began in 2008 as an improvised noise group, and released a string of more than a dozen albums before slowly beginning to incorporate more melodic pop elements into their sound. Hailing from Brisbane, the band consists of siblings Daniel Spencer (drums & vocal) Sarah Spencer (synth & vocal) and Luke Spencer (bass), along with their “Spiritual Brother” Luke Walsh (lead guitar, production).
For a band renowned for their electrifying live shows, Blank Realm have captured the energy of a live performance on their new long player, Illegals In Heaven. The album has a strong experimental flavour but still manages to incorporate enough hooks to keep listeners fully engaged.
